STILL POINT & CRANIO SACRAL THERAPY
It is often hard to find the right words to truly describe the experience of receiving CranioSacral Therapy. The approach is profound, subtle, yet energetically deep. The therapist taps into the rhythm of the craniosacral fluid that flows around the brain, the spine, & the sacrum, encasing the central nervous system. The therapist utilizes a gentle technique to work with the fluid and its potential blocks as the client lays on a massage table fully clothed. During the session, a state of "theta" is often experienced while receiving the treatment, which feels like the lucid dreaming state when you first wake up in the morning and are still dreaming yet are aware you are awake. This experience is also called the STILL POINT in craniosacral therapy. This is when the magic happens and old tensions and traumas stored within the muscles, the mind, or cellular memory start to unwind and release and are replaced by a state of deep relaxation. A session usually lasts one to two hours. The client will initially feel tired and sometimes charged up an hour or so later, as the craniosacral fluid in the body is now working towards a state of homeostasis.

How it Works to Cleanse and Purify:
Smudging is an intrinsic part of shamanism, the world’s oldest medicine. Shamans recognize that every form of life on this planet has a spiritual purpose and a sacred consciousness. They know that plants have invaluable healing properties. Human animals, as it turns out, are not the top rung of creation’s ladder even though we think we are because we have big brains and walk on two feet. All beings, whether plant, animal, or mineral are divine and have sacred right to life; all have something to offer to the manifest “other.”

To approach a smudging ritual and to be effective in cleansing away negative energy, one must be reverent of the plant being used and even the energies being cleansed. All energy is divine at its core, whether Light or Dark. Respect for all life is essential to any smudging that you undertake. If you cannot feel reverent about this sacred practice, don’t do it. Find someone who is spiritually qualified and energetically prepared to do it for you.

Although many different plants can be used for smudging, indigenous American tribes consider four plants to be especially sacred:sage, sweetgrass, tobacco, and cedar. Each plant is considered to have a special function and this can vary by tribe and tradition. For example, sage is used for purification and sweetgrass is used to bring in positive energies, while tobacco and its smoke are considered to carry prayers to the Creator.

When to Use Smudge
-You can smudge anytime just to connect to a state of spiritual clarity and harmony!
Remember, you “clear the air” in your life with the help of sacred smoke!

-If you are feeling down, negative, stuck, or in a spiritual low place
-When your house, your property, or any place or space has been exposed to heavy and negative energies, painful experiences and even illness, as many resins, etc. have antimicrobial properties
-When you move into a new location, it should be smudged to cleanse the psychic imprints of previous occupants
-If you feel the presence of bad energy in your living quarters, or if a solitary room makes you feel bad or uneasy by being in there, it’s time to smudge.
-If you want to create a protective barrier against outside negative influences, such as neighborhood issues
-If you want to make your prayers stronger and if you want to feel more connected to Spirit, it’s time to smudge.
-If your vehicle has been in a fender-bender or you’ve had a close call in your car, smudge it, inside and out, to remove negative energetic imprints that can attract more negative experiences
-Cleanse second-hand items with smudge to remove psychic imprints of previous owners
-You can consecrate and energetically charge your garden by smudging
-You should smudge to clean yourself and your space before engaging in any psychic contact or spiritual ceremony

A fire ceremony is a Native American practice that is usually performed every full moon. You do not have to wait for a full moon in order to do a fire ceremony, however. Fire Ceremonies are also wonderful during New Moons as well. This Native American ritual is easy, simple and inspiring.
To do a fire ceremony, each of us bring something to burn that we would like to rid the emotions associated with our past (on the Full Moon) or a prayer request of something new (during the New Moon), that will burn, turn to smoke and release into the ethers. This allows the past energy to move along to its highest spiritual progression path and the new prayer request to move along to its highest spiritual progression path. We may bring pictures, drawings, or intentions written on a piece of paper for the past or the newness. For the past, after we have burned and released the emotions associated with it, then we have something prepared that is written down on a clean sheet of paper. This would be something new that we would like to call forth from Great Spirit. For the newness, the prayer request is then burned and released into the ethers thereby replacing the past emotions with new ones.

What is a SIMPLE in herbal medicine?
Hibiscus tea pictured here with some cloud reflections captured within the cup!
In herbal medicine when you work with one herb it's called a "simple". It is important to work with the plants in this way so that you can begin to learn the many different medicinal properties each has to offer...and more importantly, their contra-indications.
